Hey there β happy Saturday! π
Welcome to The Weekend Whirlwind. As a reminder, TWW is a quick weekend email with a few thoughts or articles or tips to help you out. Or just stuff to share, which may not even be business related. Short, sweet, and to the point. π
THINGS FOR THIS WEEKEND’S WHIRLWIND:
THING 1 β Helpful link: Need help with your landing page? Check out this article from Kit (formerly ConvertKit) on best practices.
THING 2 β Random fun fact: The Eiffel Tower was originally intended for Barcelona, Spain, for the 1888 Universal Exposition. Barcelona’s city officials thought the tower would look like an eyesore and rejected the design. Gustave Eiffel pitched the project to Paris instead, where it became the main entrance to the 1889 International Exposition. It was initially intended to be temporary, with a planned lifespan of 20 years.
THING 3 β TWW tips:Β Establishing boundaries can feel challenging, especially if you often prioritize othersβ needs or aim for perfection in everything you do. However, setting boundaries is essential for protecting your time, energy, and well-being. Here is the fifth of five practical and empowering strategies to help you set boundaries with clarity and confidence:
Practice Self-Compassion β Setting boundaries can feel awkward at first, but itβs an important part of caring for yourself. Be patient as you learn and grow. Celebrate your successes, and remind yourself that itβs okay to stumble β youβre making progress.
This is the 5th and final tip in the series of tips on establishing boundaries; check out the TWW Archives if you missed the last four weeks!
THING(S) 4:
~ Freebie of the week: from Piggy Makes Bank, get their Creating New Habits PLR Bundle.
~ Deal of the week: from Sue at Createful Journals, get any of her Canva Starter Templates for just $7 each.
THING 5 βΒ TWW Book Club:Β Okay, one more book recommendation this week, then I’ll rotate again next week. Maybe. π
βBig Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear β by Elizabeth Gerbert. From the Amazon sales page: “[The] author…share[s] her wisdom and unique perspective about creativity.” This is a book on creativity and not technically a business book, but if you have imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and too many fears to name surrounding both, this is the book for you. It’s not going to teach you how to make a million dollars with your art or writing or other creative expression, but you’ll be inspired to put aside your doubts, take the risks, and continue your creative journey.
That’s it for this time β let me know what you think, and have a great weekend! π
