It’s the 5th issue of The Weekend Whirlwind. As a reminder, TWW is a quick weekend email with a few thoughts or articles or tips to help you out. Or just stuff to share, which may not even be business related. Short, sweet, and to the point. 😉
THINGS FOR THIS WEEKEND’S WHIRLWIND:
THING 1 — Helpful link: Are you a self-published author? This article has tips on marketing your books.
THING 2 — Random fact: The unicorn is the national animal of Scotland. It was apparently chosen because of its connection with dominance and chivalry as well as purity and innocence in Celtic mythology.
THING 3 — Reward system: Do you reward yourself after hitting goals? Many people do so for big goals but also consider giving yourself a simple reward when you finish a smaller task/project you’ve been putting off.
For optimum effect, the sooner you get the reward after completing your task, the better it works, in order to maintain your self-motivation for the long term. This works for either business or home tasks. Some example rewards:
- Get a novel from your wish list after you’ve finished 10 blog posts
- Play your new game after you clean the kitchen
- Watch another episode or two of a favorite TV show (or start a new one you’ve always wanted to get to) after completing the affiliate product review video
- Give yourself the day off (or an afternoon if you can’t bear to do the whole day) after batching your social media posts for the next week
What rewards work for you?
THING 4 — Quick wins: As I mentioned in Thursday’s newsletter, this was a bit of a crazy week, and it didn’t feel like there were many wins. But, I did get a couple of products finished for upcoming bundles, so I’ll take that as my wins for the week. 😄
THING 5 — TWW Wisdom: Slow progress is still a million times better than no progress.
