The moon sits at 3,400km (approx. 2,112.6 miles for us kilometer-challenged Americans) in diameter, while Australia’s diameter from east to west is almost 4,000km (approx. 2,485.5 miles). (The moon has more surface area…but still, that’s interesting!)
