The Midweek Memo #52

Hey there — happy Wednesday! 😄

Welcome to The Midweek Memo. I know your inbox is busy, so each issue will be short and snappy, a quick helpful email you can get through in a flash. 😉

Before we jump in to the regular stuff, I first have to say: I’m celebrating one year of The Midweek Memo! 🥳🎉🍾 This is issue 52, that’s 52 straight Wednesdays of sending this particular newsletter.

As I mentioned on Saturday, I started this one a year after the regular Saturday newsletter (The Weekend Whirlwind, which celebrated two straight years this past Saturday), so being consistent with two weekly newsletters for a year is amazing for me — especially considering how scattered and inconsistent I was in the several years before that.

And as I also mentioned on Saturday, I really do appreciate the support and feedback and readership. I appreciate you. 😘 And now on to this week’s memo…

Do you ever have trouble getting started on a project? You have ideas, you know what you want to do, you may even be super-excited about it, but you just can’t…start?

🙋🏼‍♀️ Yeah, me too.

Sometimes it’s overwhelm, sometimes it’s not knowing what the first thing should be, sometimes it’s just life.

Whatever the cause, sometimes just getting a handle on everything involved is a step in the right direction. So here are 3 quick tips to help you move forward and bring your ideas to life quickly:

  1. Kick off your project with a quick brain dump: jot down every task, idea or step without overthinking it.
  2. Break each task into bite-sized actions so you never face an overwhelming to-do list, letting you tackle smaller steps in manageable chunks.
  3. Keep everything in one tool (like a Trello board, Google spreadsheet, Airtable grid, or whatever works for you), ensuring you can move or update tasks on the fly without losing track.

If you can get all the details out of your head and see everything that needs to be done in one place, it can go a long way towards making it easier to get started — and to be able to finish too.

Give it a try, and see what happens. 😉

That’s it for this time — let me know what you think, and have a great rest of the week! 😎
